  • General Dentistry

Fillings: Today’s dentistry places a lot of emphasis on educating patients about the prevention of tooth decay. However if tooth decay is detected, up-to-date technology allows us to use the best materials to provide a long lasting aesthetically pleasing result.

Examination, Scaling and Polishing: Scaling and Polish procedure removes stains from your teeth and gives you fresher breath and cleaner, shinier looking teeth, as well as helping to prevents Gum Disease. For this procedure we use either as ultrasonic scaler or hand scale instruments.

Extractions: Tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth from its socket in the bone. Although permanent teeth were meant to last a lifetime, there are a number of reasons why tooth extraction may be needed. A very common reason involves a tooth that is too badly damaged, from trauma or decay, to be repaired.

  • Teeth Whitening

AT-HOME TEETH BLEACHING KIT This involves the use of custom-made take-home bleaching kits. To make the trays to fit your mouth we first need to take impressions of your teeth. We will provide you with a teeth whitening gel to use at home in conjunction with wearing the trays. You will usually need to wear the tray for several hours a day, (overnight is suggested) for about ten days to three weeks. An initial consultation will determine the best options for your teeth whitening and to make sure that you don’t have any decay or other limitations that would compromise your tooth whitening results. If your teeth have restorations such as fillings and crowns you will need to consider that those restorations cannot be bleached. A dental clean is recommended to remove any plaque and ensure the teeth are clean prior to bleaching.

  • Implants

A new artificial tooth can be attached to an implant. This can be an excellent way of replacing a missing tooth or teeth, because other teeth are not involved. An implant is like an artificial tooth root, and is placed into the jaw bone where a tooth is missing. One or more implants can be used, depending on the size of the space. After a time of healing (usually a few months) an artificial tooth is attached to the implant. Treatment takes between six to twelve months to complete. Not everyone has the right jaw structure for this treatment for this treatment, and you will need to be checked by your dentist to see if an implant is the right option for you.

  • Root Canal Treatment

Inside a tooth is a fine space called the root canal. The root canal contains the dental pulp which consists of nerves and blood vessels. If the dental pulp becomes diseased or dies a toothache or an abscess may occur. In the past these problem teeth were extracted but now your dentist can offer you root canal treatment to care for these teeth.

  • Crowns and Bridges

A tooth that is heavily decayed may be too weak to survive with just a filling. By placing a crown, the tooth will have a better prognosis. Without a crown there is a high risk that a fracture line may go below the margin of the gum resulting in a broken tooth and infection. Restoration of the tooth will then be impossible.
